Halo Sink - Assistive Sink for Stroke Survivors

Halo is an assistive kitchen sink designed to allow stroke survivors to safely and easily clean kitchen cookware and cutlery one-handed.

Design Process
The design process was a long and intricate process involving many stages of iteration, refinement, user testing and experimentation to ensure the final design was the best it could be. The below slideshow depicts key stages of my design process.

After many failed attempts with foam, I decided to try CNC the mould out of MDF.
MDF mould proved optimal for forming and creation of the final presentation model.

Halo Sink Final Renders
Various sized steps grip multiple cookware items such as pots, pans and plates.
Knife and cutlery brush allows simple and safe one-handed cleaning.
Pot tipper utilises a pivoting motion to allow for one-handed pouring of water from various sized pots.
Taper between steps grips cookware preventing spinning and allowing for easy cleaning.
Shallow sinks allow for wheelchair accessibility.
